BOGARDUS TARGET BALL

This is an amber Bogardus Glass target ball. Hand blown into molds, they were often packed in sawdust in large wooden barrels. I have a friend, believe it or not, who found an unopened barrel of these balls (blue) in someone's basement several years ago. Many times the balls were filled with feathers or other substances. The Bogardus ball and also others, began to have a "quilt" pattern on the surface to prevent shot from glancing off the ball. Colors included amber, cobalt blue, clear, green, red and amethyst. This nice honey colored Bogardus ball is valued at $500.00 to $600.00
